Each day during Just Advocacy Week will be different. Participants will meet with speakers, learn from workshops, and explore the ways Catholic Social Justice connects with advocacy for social justice.
This schedule is an example and subject to change.
Sample Day:
7:30-8:15: Breakfast
9:00-9:30: Morning reflection
9:30-10:15: Charity and Justice Workshop
10:15-10:45: Theory of Advocacy
10:45-11:00: Break for snacks and coffee
11:00-12:00: Guest Speaker
12:00-12:30: Small groups
12:30-1:30: Lunch
1:30-1:35: Post- lunch energizer
1:35-2:35: Advocacy tactics
2:35-2:45: Break
2:45-4:45: How to lobby
4:45-5:15: Check- out
Dinner on your own (stipend provided)
Please note that while there will be opportunities to visit historical sites and explore Washington, D.C., JAW is not a week of touring. The primary aim of JAW is for students to meet with social justice advocates, develop leadership skills, and craft a social justice project utilizing the newly acquired tools and skills.
