NETWORK Advocates (also known as NETWORK Education Program) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and as such focuses on federal policy education and organizing advocates for advocacy on broad issues.
NETWORK Advocates provides annual operating support for ongoing activities that build the foundation for activist education and advocacy: workshops and webinars to train advocates on how to lobby, write letters to the editor, and organize events; policy education; holding public events to promote policies not specific to legislation (e.g. the Child Tax Credit, reparations, immigration system reform, Medicaid expansion).
Federal law requires 501(c)(3) organizations to operate exclusively for charitable purposes. Federal regulations restrict the percentage of time spent on lobbying for federal legislation.
NETWORK Lobby is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, and as such focuses primarily on lobbying and grassroots advocacy for specific legislation to advance the common good.
NETWORK Lobby provides annual operating support for ongoing NETWORK Lobby activities as intended by our founding Catholic Sisters more than 50 years ago: bringing the stories and lived experiences of those most impacted by federal policies to Capitol Hill, and urging legislators via direct and grassroots lobbying to enact or reject specific legislation (e.g. the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Affordable Care Act, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act).
Federal law requires 501(c)(4) organizations to operate exclusively for the promotion of social welfare. Federal regulations do not restrict the percentage of time spent on lobbying for federal legislation essential to our mission of social justice. Contributions to NETWORK Lobby and Funds administered by it are not tax-deductible.
