Virginia-Schilder

Virginia Schilder

Virginia supports the Communications team’s work, helping to articulate NETWORK’s policy agenda and vision and its roots in our Catholic Social Justice values. She contributes to content such as blogs, press releases, and toolkits and resources to equip our field for advocacy for the common good.

Virginia’s work with NETWORK began in 2021 as a field education placement while she was a student at Harvard Divinity School (HDS). She continued working with NETWORK part-time while studying liberative theologies at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. After graduating, Virginia began full-time with the NETWORK Communications team in June 2024.

In addition to her studies in public policy and liberation and eco-theologies, Virginia has experience in hospital chaplaincy, advocacy and campaign work, organizing Catholic community life, and volunteering in a prison and on a community farm. These experiences have shaped Virginia’s particular commitments to prison abolition, ecological justice and Indigenous solidarity, and re-orienting labor around the things our communities actually need to thrive.
