Planned Giving
Planned gifts, such as bequests or charitable trusts, can be an advantageous way for you to provide a gift to NETWORK. As opposed to an annual fund gift that comes from your current budget, a planned gift allows you to accomplish your long-term financial giving goals, either through a gift now or after your lifetime, while enjoying financial benefits for yourself and your loved ones.
Types of Gifts
There are four ways to contribute within our Planned Giving Program. We ask that you contact our development department at (202) 601-7864 so we can assist you while you determine the option best suited for you.
Wills and Bequest
You may make a bequest or gift through your estate by including a provision in your will or living trust. Please contact our office and we can provide suggested language.
Gifts of Stock
Put the stock market to work for justice with a gift of stock! Contributions can be made to NETWORK Lobby, NETWORK Education Program, or the NETWORK Education Program Endowment Fund.
Trusts
Charitable trusts offer a way of supporting NETWORK Education Program while at the same time providing financially for yourself, your family or your heirs and substantial tax benefits. Our program allows for two options.
- A charitable lead trust provides payments to NETWORK Education Program during your lifetime; the trust principal would then go to your designated heirs.
- A charitable remainder trust provides payments to you or someone you’ve designated during your lifetime; the trust principal would then go to NETWORK Education Program.
Retirement Plans and Life Insurance
You can contribute by naming NETWORK as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, such as a IRA, Sep IRA, Keogh, 401[k], or 403[b], or life insurance policy. To do so, simply request a “change-of-beneficiary” form from your plan’s administrator and contact our office for guidance.
Bread and Roses Society
All supporters who make planned giving contributions are invited to join our Bread and Roses Society. As a member you will receive regular updates on our work and be invited to attend local events.
