NETWORK in the News
Because of the recent contraception controversy, NETWORK and our Executive Director, Sr. Simone Campbell, have appeared in numerous media outlets over the past two weeks.
Below is just a sampling. In addition, Simone Campbell will appear in a taped interview on CNN later today (2/17).
While we appreciate the mentions, we are also somewhat dismayed that the major focus of our mission – social and economic justice – does not tend to draw such intense public interest. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is that justice-seekers everywhere raise media awareness about their work wherever and whenever possible. This is especially true this election year, when politics over substance permeates the world around us. We want everyone to be as passionate about poverty, violence and injustice as some seem to be about the so-called “culture wars”!
