Our Wins

  • The Biden Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act in 2022 (IRA), which passed by party lines, made the promise of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) a reality, with massively decreased health care costs for working-class workers and families.
  • More than 21 million have affordable health care because of the ACA (which NETWORK Sisters and Advocates helped pass)
  • The Biden Administration’s American Rescue Act significantly strengthened the expanded Medicaid coverage passed in 2014, and now 41 states have expanded Medicaid coverage.
  • Overcoming powerful opposition from Big Pharma and its allies, the IRA authorized the Biden Administration to crack down on runaway drug prices for seniors with a cap of just $35 per month on previously costly insulin prescriptions for Medicare patients, an estimated savings of over $750 million per year for 1.5 million patients.
  • The 2022 Pregnant Workers’ Fairness Act protects the rights of pregnant workers to safely earn a living while facing the health challenges of pregnancy.
